If You Give a Kid a Camera…

My new friend on the bus from Darkhan to Ulaanbaatar.

I made a friend on a bus in the Mongolian countryside.

… he may think it’s a napkin!

"It usually goes the other way."

“It usually goes the other way.”

… he may invent a game I would call “camera wars.”

"Got ya!"

“Got ya!”

… he may inadvertently take a picture of the camera itself.

Artsy for a novice!

Artsy for a novice!

…he may take over 100 photos in twenty minutes!

My face was sore from all the posting...

My face got sore from all the posing…

"There's other things to take pictures of besides me!" (My face was sore from all the posing and smiles.)

“There’s other things to take pictures of besides me!”

… he may teach you that to a ten-year-old local the most interesting things about Mongolia are:

– men peeing.

This was one of several...

This was one of several…

(At the rest stop I foundĀ a monument to all his pee-shots)

Only in Mongolia...

Only in Mongolia…

– plains and hills.

Looks like Mongolia to me!

Looks like Mongolia to me!

– cows!

Not exactly National Geographic worthy, but maybe someday!

Not exactly National Geographic worthy, but maybe someday!

– trains (some things appear to be almostĀ universal!)

Not a bad shot!

Not a bad shot!

– juice

Apple juice!

(apple)

– and little brothers!

This little guy was pleased to be on camera!

This guy was pleased to be on camera!

I salute you my friend! Thanks for making the ride entertaining.
